During the VTS installation, a first user is created. With this user, you can start using the Vienna Test System right after installation. The necessary access data is defined during installation (see Single workstation installation or Server/client installation).
The user created during installation is automatically assigned the highest security level (Admin, Security Level 0). This account can create new users, assign permissions, and modify all settings in the Vienna Test System.
When creating additional users in the Vienna Test System, there are different security levels that can be used to configure access to the settings and to the data in the system.
Note: At least one user must always have the highest security level (Security Level 0). Otherwise, administration of the Vienna Test System is no longer possible.

Changes from VTS 8
In VTS 8, security levels ranged from SL 0 to SL 3. In VTS 10, SL 2 and SL 3 have been merged into a single level, retained as SL 2, so that the level numbering has no gaps.
The new SL 2 corresponds largely to the former SL 3. One notable change concerns users who previously held SL 2: they can no longer view the test results of a just-completed test. They can only start new tests. Viewing test results now requires SL 1 or higher.
During the update to VTS 10, any existing SL 2 and SL 3 users are automatically migrated to the new SL 2.
